What to Wear on the 4th of July

School’s out, June is almost over, and the temperatures are climbing. Summer is in full swing, and you know what that means- it’s almost the 4th of July!

In 2020, most of us spent Independence Day at home since it fell directly in the middle of COVID-19 quarantine. It’s no surprise that there are more parties and celebrations than ever in 2021!

Feeling overwhelmed about what to wear on the 4th of July? Here are my top outfit ideas to help you celebrate in style!

Pool Party

No matter where in the United States you may live, the 4th of July is hot. What better way to celebrate than by cooling down at a pool party?

These patriotic swimwear and coverups are the perfect way to accessorize in the water! If you’re going swimming in your neighbor’s pool, at the lake, or even in the ocean, you’ll look stylish and stay comfortable to boot.

Barbecue

Another popular way to spend the 4th of July is by going to a barbecue.

Barbecues can range from casual to a little more dressed up, depending on the location and crowd. Typically, barbecues involve a lot of standing, so it’s best to prioritize comfort.

My favorite outfit to wear to a holiday barbecue is to pair a cute blouse or tank with comfortable shorts or a relaxed skirt.

Gym

Want to embrace the patriotic spirit while working out?

Many companies offer activewear in red, white, and blue. Some even offer patriotic patterns and colors! Check out some of my favorites from Beach Riot, Abercrombie, and more.

Party

Americans love to party, and the 4th of July is no exception!

Parties celebrating the 4th are often held outdoors, so its best to stick to shorter dresses to beat the heat. If you’re enjoying the holiday at a more formal soiree, these dresses and accessories will land you on the event’s best-dressed list.

Relaxing

Planning on spending your 4th of July relaxing at home?

These cute loungewear picks will help you maximize comfort while still getting into the spirit of the holiday.

Here are a few of the outfits I’ve worn to celebrate the 4th throughout the years:
