Halloween 2022 Décor

Happy Halloween!

Last year, my I purchased a few key Halloween pieces to augment my existing fall décor. In 2022, I decided to try something new. Instead of mixing and matching fall and Halloween pieces, I set aside most of my fall décor and added some brand new Halloween items to the mix.

Dining Room

After Halloween 2021, I learned a valuable lesson: the key to creating the perfect dining room table decor is to leave enough room on the table for you to actually use it.

In 2022, I limited my centerpiece to four items: two simple white vases with fall leaf florals along with two small fall leaf pieces from Target.

I added a few cute spider web placemats to give the table a spooky touch. These turned out to be my favorite pieces of decor this season!

On top of our piano, I arranged some gothic roses in a skull vase. I also added a strand of spooky purple LED lights, a couple headstones, a skull candle, two potion vases, and a pink pearl pumpkin.

To the right of our dining room table, we have an old antique side table that needs extensive repairs. It matched our Gothic vibe, so I decided to accentuate it with gothic skull, a blue and gold candleholder, and a second pink pearl pumpkin to match the one on the piano.

Entryway Table

To greet our guests, I strategically placed some simple decor on our entryway table. On the left hand side of the table, I placed a black skull alongside a pink typewriter.

On the opposite side, our classic cauldron candy bowl lay in between a tarot palm and a cute skull holding a Halloween sign.

Bedroom

For 2022, I wanted to switch up my the decorative pillows on my bed. Instead of the skull pillow I used last year, I replaced it with a simple black-and-white pillow. Instead of looking strictly “Halloween”, I evoked Halloween colors by choosing black and orange accents.

While I didn’t own enough decorative pillows to create a specific Halloween look in 2021, I finally amassed a large enough collection this year!

To celebrate the holiday, I mixed a few of the decorative pillows I use year-round with some burnt orange ones. I also added a gold skull pillow, a burnt orange spider pillow, and a cute pink bat pillow for some extra cheer.

Media Center

Time to watch Hocus Pocus

It’s almost impossible to enjoy your Playstation or Xbox systems during spooky season unless you add some festive decor! (Just kidding).

Bad jokes aside, I added a few simple pieces to make our media center more festive. Underneath our soundbar, I positioned a wooden sign that read “Beware.” On one side of the sign I placed a black skull candle, while on the other I arranged an orange velvet pumpkin from Target. I used a black pearl pumpkin to disguise our Nintendo Switch and a black wooden coffin sign to hide our Xbox Series X.

Mantle

While I thought last year’s Halloween mantle decor was nearly perfect, I felt the need to mix it up this year- and I’m so glad I did! While 2022’s look is significantly more simple than 2021’s, I ended up liking it better.

The centerpiece of this year’s mantle is a small sign reading “Olde Salem Broom Co.”, behind which I placed two velvet trees. I framed the wooden sign with candles in contrasting colors.

I draped a set of purple LED lights across the fireplace and finished off the look with two white pumpkin candles.
