The packaging and top of the Pumpkin Spice palette

One of the best parts of fall is pumpkin spice. If you can’t get enough of the fall flavor by simply enjoying pumpkin spice treats, a pumpkin spice eyeshadow palette might do the trick!

The Too Faced Pumpkin Spice palette contains 18 pumpkin scented eyeshadows that are 0.024oz/7g in volume. When it was originally released, the palette retailed for $49 at Ulta, Sephora, and Too Faced’s website. Since this was a limited edition palette, it is now only available on Amazon or on various resale websites.

Shades

The Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Palette

Colorful and vibrant, the Too Faced Pumpkin Spice palette contains 12 matte and 6 shimmer shades that embrace the spirit of fall.

Instead of sticking to browns, reds, and oranges like many other fall palettes, the Pumpkin Spice palette includes other shades that are often associated with the season. Its broad variety of shades allow you to create olive green, pink, and purple looks while still managing to create a fall color story.

Mattes

  • Whipped CreamLight beige – So pale it’s almost white, Whipped Cream is a beautiful highlighting shade that adds contrast to every eyeshadow look you create. Whipped Cream is opaque, so you may need a few layers to create a dramatic matte look.
  • Sweetie PieGoldenrod – While I’ve seen Sweetie Pie described as olive green, it appears closer to goldenrod yellow when applied. This lovely warm-toned color is powdery, but blends easily, making it an ideal color for beginner makeup lovers. Sweetie Pie pairs well with Falling For You to create a lovely, unique fall eyeshadow look.
  • A La ModeLight pink – Opaque and powdery, A La Mode is one of the least pigmented shades in this palette. While you need a lot of color to create a bold look, this shade still pairs well with Cocoa Drizzle and Warm & Cozy for a pink or red-toned fall look.
  • Fall For ItPeach – Fall For it is a pigmented peach color. While quite powdery, Fall For It does not have any fallout and looks best swept above the crease to create depth.
  • Pumpkin Spice Light orange – One of the more powdery shades in the palette, Pumpkin Spice applies evenly. However, it needs more than one application to appear vibrant, especially on lighter skin tones.
  • Spice, Spice BabyBrick redSpice, Spice Baby appears darker once applied than it does in the pan. Despite this, it is still a lovely brick shade that looks stunning when applied on your deep crease.
  • Love You a LatteDusty mauve – Unlike the similar shade A La Mode, Love You a Latte is a densely pigmented shade that requires a little bit of work before it blends.
  • Ginger SpiceCopper red – Bold and bright, Ginger Spice brings a little more pizazz to the classic brick red hue. Ginger Spice is blendable, beginner friendly, and very easy to work with.
  • You SpicyPink berry – You Spicy is a cool-toned, deep pink color. Unfortunately, it’s a bit on the powdery side, so be careful to watch the amount of pigment on your brush when you apply it.
  • Cocoa DrizzleCool dark brown – A classic deep brown, cocoa drizzle is stunning when applied on the outer corner of your eyelid.
  • Warm & CozyMaroon – Another stunning cool-toned shade, Warm & Cozy is a highly blendable shade that pairs well with Love You a Latte, A La Mode, Crisp, and Oh My Gourd.
  • Spice of LifeEggplant – A deep, cool-toned purple, Spice of Life looks beautiful partnered with PSL & Chill or Wanna Piece of Me.

Shimmers

  • Fall VibesMetallic gold – Chunky and difficult to blend, Fall Vibes is my least favorite shimmer in the palette. When applied, it appears brown and dirty instead of gold and sparkly.
  • Oh My GourdMetallic rose gold – While Oh My Gourd has a lovely shade, it isn’t very pigmented. You’ll need several layers of this shadow to create a bold look.
  • Crisp Cool-toned pink shimmer – Subtle and sweet, Crisp is a lovely shade to brush across the middle of your eyelid to make your eyes pop.
  • Falling For YouOlive green shimmer – A unique shade, Falling For you is a warm-toned shade that has even more sparkle after application. Easy to blend, Falling For you looks lovely paired with neutral brown or dark green eyeshadow.
  • Wanna Piece of Me?Lilac shimmer – Another subtle shade, metallic lilac is blendable and easy to work with. Wanna Piece of Me? looks stunning paired with Spice of Life or several of the shades in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina palette.
  • PSL & ChillMetallic purple – PSL & Chill is bold and vibrant. If you want to add a dramatic pop of color to any purple eyeshadow look, this is the color for you!

Formula

Overall, the formula in the Too Faced Pumpkin Spice palette is inconsistent. While many of the matte shadows are blendable and beginner friendly, many are powdery. The powdery ones create a lot of fallout and appear patchy when applied, which can be time-consuming to work with.

The shimmer shade formulas are equally unpredictable. While many are highly pigmented, others are not and require several layers of shadow to see.

Wear Time

Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Palette shades

The shades in the Pumpkin Spice palette are on average very durable. Most last for 6+ hours with little movement or transfer. However, I noticed some transfer after 4 hours in the humidity from the 3 darkest shades in the palette- Cocoa Drizzle, Warm & Cozy, and Spice of Life. If you plan to wear these shades for several hours, use eyeshadow primer or setting spray for maximum staying powder.

Overall Impressions

All in all, the Too Faced Pumpkin Spice palette is a solid holiday release. It has a creative, unique color story that sets it apart from standard fall palettes. While some of it’s shades miss the mark with their formula, most of the shades are pigmented and pair well to create a variety of looks.
