It’s that time of the year again- Sephora is hosting their annual Savings Event! Using the code SAVENOW, Beauty Insider members can get discounts on their favorite products.
The dates of the sale vary based on your rewards tier level, as shown below:
Rouge: 20% off from 4/14-4/24
VIB: 15% off from 4/18-4/24
Beauty Insider: 10% off from 4/18-4/24
As always, I use Sephora sales to stock up on beauty staples that aren’t typically discounted throughout the year. Since I’ve already outlined this philosophy in previous articles, I’ll focus on the specific items I replenished or purchased this year.
Foundation/Tinted Moisturizer
One of my top priorities during any Sephora sale is to replenish my foundation. I go through bottles of foundation quickly, so it’s a good idea to restock regularly.
Currently, I rotate between three foundations. The first is NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. Sheer and hydrating, this tinted moisturizer is perfect for days when I need light coverage. It’s also infused with SPF 30, making it a great choice when I’m spending time in the sun.
When I want a full-coverage, buildable foundation, I use Esteé Lauder Double-Wear Radiant Foundation. I also tend to choose this foundation when I want to look glamorous or “done up.”
While the Esteé Lauder works wonderfully in humid climates, a better alternative in dry weather is NARS Light Reflecting Advanced Skincare Foundation. Since it doesn’t stick to my dry skin, it looks a bit more natural and less cakey.
Other Favorite Foundations
Blush/Bronzer
It can take years to completely use up blush or bronzer, so it’s rare that I need to replenish one. However, after 8 long years of use I finally emptied a container of NARS Laguna Bronzer this past winter. Since it’s one of my favorite bronzers to use on light-makeup days, I decided to purchase a replacement.
I’ve also been on the hunt for a new peach blush, so I picked up this Too Faced Cloud Crush Blurring Blush (what a tongue twister!) that got rave reviews on Sephora’s website.
Other Favorite Bronzers and Blushes
Eyeshadow
This year, I wasn’t on the hunt for too many eye products. Thanks to frequent Ulta sales, I already had backups of my favorite mascara and eyebrow pencils. I also have more eyeshadow palettes than any human reasonably needs.
However, I’ve been working hard to create a quick makeup routine for days when I’m short on time. With that in mind, I picked up Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Shadow in Intense Moonlight to create a simple eye look.
Other Favorite Eye Products
Skincare
I’m not sure if I’ll ever get Botox, but I do know that my under-eye area needs a little bit of love. Before I explore more invasive methods of fixing my puffy eyes and dark circles, I picked up this Herbivore Super Nova Brightening Eye Cream.
Hair
Truth be told, I don’t purchase many of my hair products from Sephora. Many of my tried-and-true hair favorites aren’t sold at Sephora. The few that are (mostly Olaplex products) last several months before needing replacements.
Understandably, the only hair product I needed to replenish this spring was dry shampoo. The Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo absorbs oil and refreshes my hair in between washes. Even after experimenting with other brands, I keep coming back to this dry shampoo because it works so well!
Of course, if you’re looking to purchase a new hair tool, the Sephora Savings Event a great chance to do so. While I don’t recommend purchasing any Dyson products during the sale- Dyson regularly offers higher discounts through their own website– you can grab any number of hair tools from other brands at a lower price.
Other Favorite Hair Products
The Sephora Savings Event is a great opportunity to save money on products you already planned to purchase. It’s also a great way to explore new products with less financial risk. Nonetheless, don’t fall into the financial trap of purchasing something because it’s “on sale.” Sales should be used to help you save money, not encourage you to spend more!
