November has always been one of my favorite months. The weather starts to cool down and it’s the beginning of the holiday season!
I spent most of the first couple weeks of November relaxing as I recovered from COVID-19. While COVID itself wasn’t pleasant, it was nice to rest, relax, and enjoy relaxing activities like reading and watching movies.
As soon as Stephen and I started to feel better, we began to tackle a few home improvement projects! Our home has long been a sore point for us. Truth be told, housing is expensive in the Bay Area. While the home we’re renting has a great layout, it hasn’t been remodeled since it was built in 1981. It’s extremely out of date! Not to mention, most of our furniture was either hand-me-downs or purchased from Ikea several years ago- it wasn’t in the best of shape!
Stephen and I decided it was time for a change. We began by reorganizing our entire house. Our second step was replacing all of our living room, dining room, and kitchen furniture. Next, we bought a new TV for our living room and moved our old one to our bedroom. Finally, we began the arduous process of organizing our garage to make more space for our gym equipment.
Sadly, we’re far from done with our home redecoration. I still have to order some odds and ends for our living room. Also, we never finished redecorating our bedroom last summer. We’ll have to wrap that up too before the job is complete!
I’m surprised at how freeing it feels to live in a home that’s decorated with furniture I love. Before, I looked around my house and was constantly frustrated at how “not me” it looked. Now, I feel happy, relaxed, and at home!
I can’t wait to make more progress on our home in December! I also have several new blog posts and stylish winter fits planned- keep your eyes peeled for all of my exciting new content!
Until next month ♥
