May 2023 was a month of both celebration and tragedy.
After getting engaged at the end of April, my fiancé Stephen and I flew to Kansas City to visit his family. Sadly, Stephen’s grandfather passed away just two days into our trip. After his death, we flew back to California for a week to catch up on work before traveling back to Kansas City for his funeral.
While we were overjoyed to be engaged, it felt bittersweet to celebrate while simultaneously mourning the passing of a loved one.
Since we spent almost half of May traveling, the rest of the month was spent catching up on work that we missed during our trips. Overall, May 2023 was certainly eventful, but we’re looking forward to a more relaxed June.
