Lululemon Cropped Define Mesh Jacket Review

The Lululemon Cropped Define Mesh paired with an athleisure skirt

Lightweight and breathable, the Lululemon Cropped Define Mesh Jacket is a unique addition to Lululemon’s Define collection. Constructed with technical fabric and enhanced with mesh ventilation zones, this jacket is a fusion of function and fashion.

Material

One of the defining features of the Cropped Define Mesh Jacket is its mesh material. Nestled in zones you sweat the most, mesh panels are strategically placed for optimal breathability. Whether you’re in the middle of a challenging yoga flow or running a quick errand, this jacket will keep you cool and comfortable.

Unlike the heavy Luon fabric of the classic Define Jacket or the soft Nulu Cropped Define, this jacket was designed to for warm weather.

Sizing

The Cropped Define Mesh Jacket is available in sizes 2-12. If you’re looking for a more inclusive size, Lululemon offers other styles with a wider size range, like the classic Luon Define which is available in sizes 0-20.

Fit

The Cropped Define Mesh vs the standard Cropped Define Jacket Nulu

The Cropped Define Mesh Jacket is a few inches shorter than its sister style, the Cropped Nulu Define.

This jacket is designed to be waist-length, meaning that on the average person, it should end right above their hips. When styled with a high-waisted skirt or pair of pants, this jacket should show minimal skin.

Since I have a long torso, the bottom of this jacket rests at the smallest part of my waist. I find this look very flattering, as it accentuates my waist and gives me a flattering snatched silhouette. However, this jacket is very “cropped” on my body. If you also have a long torso like me, keep that in mind before purchasing.

Overall Impressions

Truth be told, I love the Cropped Define Mesh Jacket! (Obviously, since I bought it in 3 different colors).

During late summer afternoons, my house gets very warm. I often spend the afternoon lounging in a cropped tank or sports bra before running errands in the early evening. Since I live in a relatively conservative town, I would get odd looks from neighbors if I went to the grocery store in a sports bra. Some type of cover-up is necessary, but when it’s 90+ degrees out and many local businesses don’t have AC, most shirts or jackets would cause me to overheat.

The Lululemon Cropped Define Mesh is my go-to jacket on warm days like this. I simply throw it on over my sports bra and have a stylish coverup that still keeps me cool.

Alternatively, the Cropped Define Mesh Jacket is a great choice to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. I’ve frequently brought this jacket along on boat trips or trips to the beach to wear over my swimsuit. It’s also a stylish and comfortable jacket for outdoor activities like walking the dog or playing pickleball.

It’s important to note that the Cropped Define Mesh Jacket is the most expensive jacket in Lululemon’s Define line, coming in at $20 more expensive than the standard and cropped Defines. Other downsides of the jacket include limited color availability.

If you’re looking for a lightweight, breathable jacket to wear during summer, the Lululemon Cropped Define Mesh Jacket is a great choice! If you’re looking for a jacket to keep you warm on a chilly day, the standard Luon Define Jacket would be a much better option.
