Brunch in Scottsdale is an institution. A tradition for both locals and visitors, it’s not uncommon to wake up late on a Sunday and enjoy a delicious brunch- then spend the rest of the afternoon recovering!
Since Scottsdale has so many brunch restaurants, it can be overwhelming to find a spot with the best food and an enjoyable atmosphere. After spending 28 years in Scottsdale (and many Sundays enjoying a delicious brunch) I’ve put together a guide to the best brunch spots the town has to offer! (Hint: It’s not Hash Kitchen).
6. The Living Room – DC Ranch
The Living Room in DC Ranch is a well-known spot to grab a delicious glass of wine during the afternoon or evening. However, did you know they also serve brunch? And it’s pretty amazing!
True to the restaurant’s name, guests at The Living Room are seated on comfortable couches. Food an drinks are served on coffee tables, allowing the focus of the meal to be on socialization rather than the food.
However, that doesn’t mean that the food isn’t delicious! Despite serving a limited brunch menu, The Living Room has many tasty options like Chicken and Waffles, Eggs Benedict, and several delicious variations of crepes.
Even better, The Living Room offers bottomless mimosas for only $15 (as long as you purchase food). Make sure to plan ahead and bring a designated driver or schedule an Uber, because staff is very generous with refills.
Best Cocktails: Ruby Paloma, Mimosa
Best Eats: Chilaquiles, Mixed Berry Crepes
Avoid: Breakfast Panini Sandwich
5. Butters Café – McCormick Ranch
Located in the sleepy neighborhood of McCormick Ranch, Butters Café is too delicious to be overlooked.
Butters is well known locally for offering a staggering amount of creative pancakes, waffles, and crepes. How creative are we talking? Well, a common menu favorite is French Toast stuffed with Nutella and topped with strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. They also serve 5 varieties of Eggs Benedict, each better than the first!
Even more enjoyable, Butters has a small café located inside the restaurant. Patrons can order their favorite coffee, tea, or espresso beverage to enjoy on the side of their delicious breakfast.
Best Eats: Berry Bliss French Toast, Banana Cream Belgian Waffles, Oreo Cookie S’mores Pancakes
4. Eggstasy – Shea Corridor
One of the most well-known brunch spots in Scottsdale, Eggstasy offers a wide variety of options for a delicious start to your day. In fact, Eggstasy has more variety to their menu than any other restaurant in this guide! From waffles and crepes to healthier options like omelettes and skillets, Eggstasy has you covered.
Even better, Eggstasy has 3 different locations in Scottsdale and one in Chandler. No matter where you live or where you’re staying, a delicious brunch is never more than a short drive away!
Best Cocktails: Blood Orange Mimosa
Best Eats: Skirt Steak and Eggs, Dutch Apple French Toast, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Crispy Prosciutto Eggs Benedict
3. Zuzu – Old Town
If you’re looking for a brunch spot with great views, stunning décor, and delicious cocktails, Zuzu is your best bet!
While Zuzu’s brunch menu isn’t the largest, it offers a little something for everybody. Standard brunch fare comes with a creative twist. A menu standout is the Fried Chicken and Waffles, topped with maple syrup and a delicious peach cobbler filling.
The true star of Zuzu is it’s beautiful location. Nestled on the first floor of Hotel Valley Ho, guests are treated to a lovely view of perfectly landscaped tropical flowers and Hotel Valley Ho’s art deco pool.
Best Cocktails: Signature Bloody Mary, Cucumber Mule
Best Eats: Fried Chicken + Peach Cobbler Waffle, Breakfast Fried Rice
2. Breakfast Kitchen Bar – Scottsdale Quarter
For the best combination of a delicious meal and dreamy brunch cocktails, look no further than Breakfast Kitchen Bar.
Located in one of Scottsdale’s most beautiful outdoor shopping centers, Breakfast Kitchen Bar offers standard brunch options such as pancakes, waffles, and benedicts.
However, the real novelty comes in the form of their extensive healthy options menu. Instead of providing a few healthy meal choices, Breakfast Kitchen Bar allows customers to choose from more creative options like Power Protein Pancakes and Brussels Sprouts & Cauli Mash Breakfast Bowl. They also clearly mark gluten-free and vegan options, ensuring their menu is accessible to people with different diets.
When visiting Breakfast Kitchen Bar, make sure to order one of their Espresso Martinis- they’re phenomenal!
Best Cocktails: Espresso Martini, Peach Bellini
Best Eats: Smoked Salmon Benedict Bowl, Bananas Foster Belgian Waffle
1. Prep & Pastry – Old Town
Prep & Pastry also has a memorable coffee bar. Their regular lattes are delicious, but their chai tea lattes are even better. They also have an extensive cocktail menu including brunch favorites such as Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers.
Best Eats: Monte Cristo
